What lies behind the yellow screen porch door is southern goodness. There is absolutely nothing classy or fancy about this place. You came here to get some vittles and that's what their gonna give ya. They place looks like somebody's small lunch room off the side of their house. I loved everything about the place. The tables are decorated with the faces of R&B and Jazz legends. The meats are cooked to order and fried to perfection. They also have a variety sides, all which seem to be cooked by somebody's little old granny in the back.....delicious.
Although I loved everything at Miss Pollys the true 5 star VIP for me was the Fried Apple Pie a la mode. Man o man o man......comes out hot in a cast iron skillet. I haven't had fried pie like this since my grandmother passed. I happy danced till it was gone then almost cried cause it was gone. I could have ordered another but the button on my pants was saying "pump your breaks". -

Miss Polly's has the vibe but the vittles ain't aight!
In fact my chicken was really dry and tasteless!
Fried okra was okay as was the collards but nothing really stood out.
Thank you for pointing out the crime on Beale street on the weekends. At least I didnt get mugged by a gang.....added bonus in my book.
Cool Divey decor and great music playing. I'd come in for a quick drink imho. -

Lucked into Miss Polly's after a gentleman on the street let our family know it was open for breakfast. Service was prompt and atmosphere was exactly the dive we were looking for. My preschooler let the waitress know the waffle he had was "the best waffle ever". Crispy juicy perfectly fried chicken knocked my socks off. Husband gave his chicken fried steak with fried potatoes and big ole fluffy biscuit a thumbs up. The staff was very friendly and gave us some interesting local history and tips on what we could check out this weekend. Even offered us complimentary cups of coffee to go on our way out. We'll be back again for sure.

I ordered the Flying Waffle which consist of 3 chicken wings, waffle and a side. I got Mac n cheese as my side. The guy at the door stated it will take a while to get my order but it was only 10 minutes. Everything taste great, hot & made to order. I am glad they now take Visa, before they only accepted cash.

I like the vibe of this place and the fact that it is on Beale Street. It has a soul music theme which is cool. I had breakfast here and the food was ok. Nothing to write home about as it was just eggs, skillet potatoes and bacon. Kind of just your usual touristy diner. Worth visiting if you are in town and want to experience Beale Street.
